Selby and Barlby

Barlby resting on the northern bank of the River Ouse from Selby was where I was born and bred in a terrace house only yards from the busy stretch of line that was the East Coast Mainline and the Leeds - Hull line. Some of the images were taken from the confines of the house and garden so there is little doubt as to where my interest in railways came from. These images are from scanned photographs, the negatives long lost in subsequent house moves. If anybody objects to any of these pictures appearing here please contact me and I will remove them. The one shot from outside Selby and Barlby is at Riccall gates taken on a bike trip to York shed while we were waiting for the gates to open to allow us on our way. It is included in this gallery mainly because Riccall kids went to the same school as me!
